Jack & Jill Pre-School operates from the Village Hall in the heart of Bransgore, a village on the edge of the New Forest. We are a happy, friendly Pre-school which has been established for over 40 years.

We are a committee run Pre-School, with charity status who are set up to provide play, care and education for children below school age.  Jack & Jill Pre-School is 30 hours friendly and has vacancies for 2 year old children.

We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children. The routines and activities that make up the session/day in the setting are provided in ways that:

  • help each child to feel that she/he is a valued member of the setting
  • ensure the safety of each child
  • help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group
  • provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning

We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from – and work at – a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others.

We are open Tuesday morning, with half or full days on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with an optional lunch club for up to 26 children term time only (38 weeks)

In the year before starting Primary School, our afternoon sessions will focus on fine tuning skills needed to prepare for school and visits to Bransgore Primary school are arranged. The close links not only with Bransgore Primary School but also with other schools in the surrounding villages which, in addition to visits from future school teachers, make the transition from pre-school to primary school as smooth as possible for your child.
