Dear Parents,
As we close for the half term I just wanted to say a Thank you for all your support over the last 7 weeks. All the children have settled back into the routines with your support and have been so enthusiastic to learn about Autumn. Many of you have sent the children in with evidence of autumn, e.g. collage pictures of leaves, twigs, flowers that can be found when you walk to Pre-school and collections of acorns, conkers, and sycamore seeds that can be counted, sorted and similarities and difference looked at. Some parents have been lucky enough to share the experience of watching the tractors and combine harvesters in the fields with their children to cement the concept of farmers getting ready for Winter. We have followed this up with bread making and I was inspired by one of the children to look at the Cbeebies programme DO YOU KNOW. They are short and so informative covering lots of different topics. Many of you are also keeping the children busy in the garden, raking leaves—-great muscle strengthening and planting bulbs–which teaches care for living things! Keep up the good work!!!!
One last interesting fact for you for the holidays —–It takes 7 seconds for a child’s brain of this age to process the question you have asked and them to answer it!!!!!! So please give your child time to talk. The 5 digit rule is ask 1 question then 4 statements before asking the next question to enhance your child’s vocabulary.
Enjoy those lovely children and we will see you for the countdown to Xmas.
Regards
